Two Marshes Residents Enjoying a Game of Bocce

Marshes Meet Ups

Bonding Over Bocce

Once played on astroturf – and even in the ballroom! – bocce is a bona fide hit at The Marshes. It’s also one of many fun ways to meet new friends and neighbors.

The Marshes Bocce League plays on Cottage Park’s new state-of-the-art court. The court includes handicapped assistance rails, portable ball-rolling rails, and benches inviting players of all abilities.

Our Fall 2023 season champions were the Pallino Pals. Our spring season begins in March. Once you’re here, come out to play, connect, and create memories together!

Resident Raves

“I chose The Marshes because of the carefree lifestyle. The stress of keeping a house is completely tended to. If assistance is ever needed, it’s as simple as a telephone call. What a nice way to live!”

Shirley O.

“We chose to live at the Marshes because it allowed us to keep our doctors, our church, our friends and also maintain our Landings Club membership. We value all of those relationships and we’re not interested in starting up somewhere new.”

Mr. & Mrs M.

“The Marshes is definitely worth the wait. You will not find a better life care facility anywhere else!”

Betty S.

Here are the some of the most common questions we hear from future residents:

A Life Plan Community offers residents the benefit of a vital and socially active community along with access to on-site health care services through a continuum of care. At The Marshes, we offer Independent Living, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing all on one campus. As the health status of a senior changes, the progression of care adjusts. This unique life plan allows individuals to age in place in a comfortable and familiar setting.

An entrance fee is a one-time fee paid by a person moving into the community and varies based on floorplan. Our refundable entrance fee typically offers 90%, and sometimes 80% or 50%, refund options to you or your estate.

The Marshes has been managed by Life Care Services (LCS), since it opened in 2004. As one of the nation’s leading and most progressive forces in the senior living management industry, LCS has over 45 years of experience managing more than 140 communities across the country. The Marshes is owned and sponsored by Skidaway Health and Living Services, Inc. (SHALSI), a Savannah-based nonprofit corporation. SHALSI is governed by a volunteer board of directors.

The Island Club offers a formal dining room, casual bistro, lounge overlooking the marsh with a well-stocked bar, private dining room, spacious ballroom, library, computer center, and card and game rooms. The Palmetto Club includes an indoor heated pool, hot tub, exercise area, and a greenhouse. The cottage park area offers bocce ball, miles of walking paths, and is steps away from Skidaway State Park.

Our 50-acre campus includes 182 independent homes. We offer apartments ranging from 819 to 2000 sq. ft., cottages ranging from 1545 to 2500 sq. ft., and duplexes ranging from 1338 to 2004 sq. ft. These residences offer one- and two-bedroom floorplans, most with stunning marsh or peaceful park-like views.

Yes, there is a waiting period for existing residences to become available, which varies by floorplan. Our Future Resident Program gets your name on the list. To learn how to be added to our waitlist, contact our marketing department at 912-598-3608.
