Amanda Elliott

Amanda Elliott

Amanda Elliott has been the executive director of The Marshes of Skidaway since June 2010. She began her career with Life Care Services, the management company of The Marshes, in 2005. Amanda is a graduate of Ohio University with degrees in long-term care administration and health service administration and a gerontology certificate. She also has a Master of Health Administration degree. Amanda is a member of the Savannah Chamber of Commerce, Alzheimer's Association, as well as a national and state member of LeadingAge. Amanda is a licensed nursing home administrator in Indiana, South Carolina and Georgia.

Amanda is originally from Ohio, but she has enjoyed living in Savannah with her husband Brandon and their two daughters, Caroline and Hannah, for the last several years.

Heather is originally from Minneapolis, MN and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Cum Laude, with a degree in Health Care Administration. Heather has been an active member of the American College of Health Care Administrators since 2009 and was selected by the Center for Health Administration and Aging Services Excellence as a Distinguished Student.

Prior to starting with Life Care Services, Heather worked at Presbyterian Homes of Bloomington, which is a full continuing care community which included long-term, transitional and memory care services. The Presbyterian Homes of Bloomington is one of 40 communities within the Presbyterian Homes and Services Organization based in Minnesota. She started with Life Care Services in 2014 and served as the Associate Administrator of The Marshes from June 2014 to June 2015 at which time she began as the Administrator . Heather is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the states of Minnesota and Georgia.

On a personal note, Heather comes from a large family with six sisters and is a big fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Wild sports teams! She enjoys the beach, volleyball, farmer’s market and all of the wonderful culture and activities that Savannah has to offer.

Lorna Carswell has been the accounting director of The Marshes of Skidaway Island since March of 2005. She holds a bachelor's degree in accounting with over 14 years of experience as accounting director of a continuing care retirement community (CCRC). Before she joined The Marshes she worked as an Accountant for a Continuing Care Community in Galveston, Texas, for over 14 years and a staff accountant for Council on Aging in Cincinnati for a year and a half.

Lorna, her husband, Will, and their son, Christopher, moved from Texas to Savannah in 2005.

Amy Blevins is the director of marketing and sales for The Marshes of Skidaway Island. Originally from Michigan, she has enjoyed being a Savannah resident, living at The Landings, for over 16 years.

Amy is a sales and marketing professional with 20 years' experience in highly competitive service industries. She specializes in customer relationship building and staff leadership. She has served successfully in management positions with American Express and Wachovia Corporation.

Her father was a German, Indiana, farm boy and her mother was from an Irish, Texas ranch family. She credits her parent's diversity for encouraging her to be creative yet logical. Enjoying life on a lake while attending public schools, playing in the orchestra and working on classic cars helped fuel her enthusiasm for precision team work. She married a southern gentleman and has two children. Their daughter Carmen and her family live in South Carolina while their son Taylor and his family live anywhere the USAF needs an F-16 pilot.

Amy believes in the power of reading, working smart, physical recreation and chocolate!

Michael Reese joined The Marshes of Skidaway Island as the director of food and beverage in 2007. He holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from San Diego State University, where he majored in accounting. Over the past 25 years, Michael has opened or renovated numerous hotels and restaurants. Additionally, he served on a food and beverage consulting team with an international hotel chain. In 2003, he formed a management consulting company, offering his hospitality and accounting skills to clients. He also serves as a consultant on the Corporate Resource Team assisting other LCS communities.

Keith Cameron is the executive chef at The Marshes of Skidaway Island. He is originally from Pinehurst, N.C. and received his culinary arts degree from Asheville Buncombe Technical College.

He has 18 years of culinary experience with four years at Pinehurst Country Club as the executive sous chef. He also has two years of experience at Belle Meade Continuing Care Retirement Community, three years at the National Golf Club as the executive chef, two years with his own restaurant, G-3 (Gourmet a Go-Go), and lastly, seven years at The Reserve Club Woodside Plantation as food & beverage director.

Keith is married to Lilia and has a two-year-old daughter named Addison. He enjoys mountain biking and traveling. The chef aspires to continuously bring new ideas and recipes "to the table" for our residents.

Mary Coombs joined The Marshes team in 2007 as an electrician. She was quickly promoted to Maintenance Supervisor, a role that well prepared her for her current role as Director of Plant Operations. As Director of Plant Operations she oversees the maintenance department, as well as landscaping and security.

Mary began her career at age 17 in the US Army. In addition to 10 years military service as a Metal Worker/Machinist, she has had 25 years of experience in the maintenance field. Mary holds an Associate’s Degree in Industrial Electrical Technology and Electrical Construction and Maintenance, as well as a certificate in Technical Writing. For as long as she can remember, Mary has had a passion for skilled trades and training.

Although Mary calls Hawaii home, she was born in New Jersey. Being part of a military family, she moved frequently as a child and as an adult. In her spare time, Mary enjoys beachcombing and seashell collecting; she is always on the hunt for that rare shell.

Terry Lee grew up in Augusta, Ga., but Savannah was always her home away from home. It was an easy transition in 1998 to move to the Savannah area when her husband was offered a position with Atlantic Freight of Savannah.

Terry has had an extensive career in customer service, production scheduling, and accounting. She started her career at The Marshes as the plant operations coordinator and was then promoted to director of environmental services. She loves working at The Marshes. She has often said she loves coming to work here so much that she can only imagine that being able to live here is even more wonderful.

Terry and her two children and seven beautiful grandchildren and one great-grandson. Life is busy, but when she has time you will find her out on the golf course!!

Michelle Rice joined The Marshes of Skidaway Island in December 2014. She has been in hospitality management, including Sales, Catering and Event Management, for over 16 years. She has a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. Michelle is passionate about genuine hospitality. She treasures relationships and enriching the lives of others through her work.

Michelle was raised on a farm in South Dakota, where she loves to visit. Michelle and her husband, Christopher Rice, have 5 smart and beautiful daughters ages ranging from 19 to 3. She enjoys traveling, movies, reading, arts and crafts, gardening and spending time with her family.

Marchel Fairchild has been working in long term care for over 10 years and brings a great deal of experience and knowledge to the position. She has most recently been working at Select Specialty Hospital in Savannah and was previously working as the assistant director of nursing at a continuing care retirement community in Hilton Head. She, her husband and their two sons have lived in Savannah for the last 20 years.

Marchel received her nursing degree from Armstrong Atlantic University.

Janet Pynn
Home Care Director

Janet Pynn is a registered nurse serving as the home care director at The Marshes of Skidaway. She has been a registered nurse for over 30 years. Janet started her nursing career in the hospital environment, where she worked for 12 years. But for the past 18 years she has been actively involved in the Home Care and Home Health industry.

She strongly feels that all of her experience in the acute and long-term care industries has given her a heightened appreciation and understanding of the healthcare system. It was her first experience in home care nearly 20 years ago that she found her true joy.

She has lived in Savannah for about 13 years, having moved from St. Petersburg, Fla., where she received her nursing degree from St. Petersburg College.

Maria Franco
Human Resources Director

Maria Franco has 6 years in consulting with various healthcare organizations. She brings 15 years of experience as a certified Human Resources Professional, Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma Management, and Organizational & Leadership Development Executive Coach.

She graduated from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and is a Certified State Mediator in Ga, FL, CA, and NC. She has a passion for understanding the business and driving financial and organizational results.

Maria is also proficient in three languages; Spanish, Hebrew, and Portuguese. She has two wonderful adult children and three grandchildren and her 89 years old mother is her best friend! Maria spent most of her teen age years living internationally and came to the United States at age 14 and is very excited to be part of The Marshes of Skidaway Island leadership team!

Kim Sharp
Director of Community Relations at The Oaks

Kim Sharp grew up in Savannah. She and her entire family are proud to call Savannah, "home." While she was growing up, Kim's family owned Peanut Butter, a children's boutique on Wilmington Island. Through her store she became close to many of The Marshes' current families!

Kim has her undergraduate degree in speech correction and her graduate degree in speech language pathology. She has an extensive background in both special education and marketing. Kim previously worked at the Georgia Neurological Institute as the director of the Neurologically Based Learning Disorders Program.

Kim started working at The Oaks at The Marshes of Skidaway Island in 2010 and this has been her first experience working within a continuing care retirement community, which she is thoroughly enjoying!

Kim has been married to Tony, her long- time best friend, for 25 years. They have three boys: Tyler 24; Hunter 22 and Tucker 15. She considers herself very blessed to be surrounded by family at work and at home!

Chris Lee is a native of North Carolina but resided in Hampton, Virginia until four years ago when she relocated to Savannah to marry her high school sweetheart. She has 2 grown sons and a daughter who graduates high school this year. Together, she and her husband Louie have 5 children, 5 grandchildren, a chocolate lab named Cocoa, and they reside on Wilmington Island.

She is a Registered Nurse and graduated from Wilson Community College, in Wilson, NC. Chris has a multifaceted nursing background which includes experience working in the intensive care unit, critical care unit, public health, long term care, marketing and over 20 years of nursing and management experience in home health care and hospice. She holds certifications in public health, child health and home health care. Her passion is geriatrics.

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, being out in this beautiful area boating, swimming, fishing and playing the guitar.

Angie is a native of Savannah, Georgia. She joined the Marshes of Skidaway Island in March, 2016. Angie has been in Human Resources for over 20 years with experience in the academia, retail, industrial distribution, and healthcare industries. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Armstrong State University.

Growing up in Savannah has given Angie a deep love for the coastal lifestyle. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the beach, taking in the history of downtown Savannah, reading, spending time with her family and friends, and cheering on her beloved Ga Bulldogs!
